a living space: Julia's Art

I am Julia Boal: an artist and art teacher, among other things. I graduated from Bard College in 2010 with a degree in Studio Art (and French Studies, but that's not really relevant to this page), and for two years after college I taught art to students in grade 5-9 at a private school on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Since moving to central MA in 2012 I have been teaching after school art classes at Emerson Umbrella, a non-profit arts organization in Concord, in addition to a part-time job at a children's museum and keeping up with our blog and Etsy shop. I spent the majority of my young artistic career (college and earlier) painting people, mostly nudes, with oil paint; however, I have recently begun to experiment with new materials and methods.
